As one of the oldest creativity camps in the US, we welcome campers from all over the world!
About Our Camp Programs:
We provide fast-paced adventures in problem solving. Our campers’ days are filled with hands-on learning and challenging activities guaranteed to get their creativity flowing! No prior experience in creative problem solving is necessary, but campers should have an enthusiasm for group activities, curiosity, a sense of humor, and enjoy a challenge!
Our program focuses on helping each camper develop their potential. The goal is to empower our campers to approach life’s challenges with confidence. We do this by honing their creative and critical thinking skills, leadership skills, problem solving abilities, and teamwork. “Gotta Camp” creates a safe, structured, caring and supportive environment. Campers are encouraged to share their talents, to take risks, to recognize their similarities and differences, to be inclusive, become leaders, and to have fun! At Camp Gottalikachallenge, campers form lasting friendships with their teammates and dorm buddies.
About Our Gotta Staffers
Gotta Camp’s high-energy staff is dedicated to making each child’s experience at camp thoroughly rewarding. The staff includes a Director, Assistant Director, experienced coaches, and junior coaches–many of whom were campers themselves. Adult staffers have degrees in education and/or extensive experience with Destination Imagination, and all are skilled in facilitating creative problem solving activities. Each staff member has unique skills and talents to share, and plans specialty games and activities for campers.
All of our Gotta Staffers have completed LEAD’s Camp Mental Health Certification. This training introduces camp staffers to the risk factors, warning signs, and prevalence of mental illness in adolescents, and addresses topics unique to the camp community, like anxiety and homesickness. LEAD training empowers camp professionals with strategies to promote mental health in their own life and in the lives of our campers and fellow staffers.
