Gotta Camp First-Year Staffer Interview Process

The Application

The first step in becoming a Gotta Camp Staffer is to complete the online application. If you’re looking at this page, you’ve already done that. Thanks!

Once I receive and review your application, I email your references asking how they know you, and what skills and strengths you would contribute to our staff team. When I hear back from those people about how wonderful you are, that’s when I email you inviting you to schedule an interview. That brings us to right now!

The Interview

I’ve sent you the link to my calendar to book an appointment slot. If there are no times available that work for you, please email me with a few times that do work! The interview will take place via Google Meet. It’s usually about 30-45 minutes long.

I will ask you questions, some of which will be directly related to the job like what past camp or work experience you have, why you want to work at Gotta Camp, and what kinds of activities you would be interested in leading or assisting with! Others are more get-to-know-you type questions, like how would other people describe you, or who your creative mentor/inspiration is.

For some questions, you may know your response right away; for others you may wish to pause for a moment and compose your answer before you begin – that’s totally fine! You are encouraged to take your time, and give thoughtful, genuine answers. We will talk about the job responsibilities and the pre-camp commitment. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask any questions you want – you may want to think about what questions you have ahead of time!

The Wait

It takes a couple months for all of the interviews to be completed. Depending on where in the timeline your interview is, it can be a bit of a wait! If at any point you want to check on the status, or have other questions, you are more than welcome to email me and check in – I’m happy to keep you informed!
